PH Productions (PHP) caters to artists who are looking to perform, record and or promote their product but wish to avoid the potentially unmanageable overhead and downside of organizing, implementing and launching a tour or small series of shows here in New England. PHP provides the featured artist with everything needed for a successful, profitable and stress-free experience. This includes world class musicians/backing band, performance venues, site coordination, incremental promotion/advertising, back line and front of house sound, lighting, transportation, crew, accommodations, rehearsal facilities, recording facilities (studio and mobile), catering, security, support acts and much more. In essence, PHP provides the artist with a complete, turnkey operation.
Once this model is established for a particular artist, it can be rolled out during opportunistic times throughout the year and can be plugged into additional markets. This model works well with artists who live outside our region who may experience splintered performance schedules or who want to work less frequently throughout the year but like the idea of having a musical unit accessible and ready to work. We enable the artist to have a dependable unit in place without the need to keep players and crew on a retainer, salary or working week in and week out. All in all we give the artist the flexibility and freedom to access all PHP has to offer without the overhead, expense and potential ongoing logistical problems.
The Concept
The PHP model will help guarantee the greatest net value for the artist by assuring efficiency in production, quality of bookings and access to PHP world class backing musicians and production infrastructure. Our organization is self-sufficient and interchangeable as we utilize in-house sound, transportation, crew and other items necessary for keeping overhead down while providing a safe, professional environment. PHP incorporates local and regional support acts to create better overall draw and to lessen the headliners production burden. Solid support allows the headliner to produce and perform a shorter, more compact show thus keeping rehearsal/pre-production time and again, costs down.
PHP often underwrites specific shows working with venues for a percentage of gross receipts. This works well when there are less attractive guarantees being offered and when PHP and the artist have confidence in their ability to promote shows, making them a financial success.
