Peter
Hackel, Founder
Peter grew up in Newton where at a tender age he became interested in
music influenced by his father Allan, a Jazz Guitarist. Peter graduated
Newton South High in 1977 and quickly won an audition with the popular New
England rock band “The Night Riders” led by Michael Rapunzel founder
of the controversial Renaissance Community. Peter’s travels took him up
and down the East Coast and to Chicago from 1977-82 with various groups
and artists including The Race, Randy Lee’s Band, jingle star Liz
Corrigan, Magic, Phaeton and others.
In 1983 Peter joined The Allan R. Hackel Organization a national Media
Buying and Barter Agency. Peter currently holds the title of Sr. Vice
President and helps to oversee the company’s commercial Real Estate
holdings in Newton Center, MA.
In 1999, Peter found himself coming back to his musical roots when he
opened a performance venue and restaurant in Southern Maine that led him
to co-find the group “James Montgomery and Friends”. The band has
since become well known for it’s support of charitable causes and has
performed as Nominees for “Best Blues Act Of The Year” at the 2003
Boston Music Awards ceremony at the Wang Center in Boston. Peter has also
been busy performing with artists such as Grammy Nominee Jon Butcher, Joey
Molland of the legendary group Badfinger, 70’s pop singer Andy
“Avenging Annie” Pratt, Ian Mitchell of the Bay City Rollers and
Peter’s newest project Full House featuring founding member of The J.
Geils Band, Danny Klein:
Peter's passion as an organizer and producer has led him to develop PH
Productions (www.phproductions.net).
Besides being a full serve production company specializing in festivals,
site coordination and developing or enhancing annual charitable events as
well as providing corporations and conventions with music production and
planning services.
Peter currently lives in Newton, MA with his wife Dina and daughters
Amanda, Madison, Brooke and Olivia with a fourth daughter Amanda in
college.
