The Hackel family has experienced the tragic loss of Paige Farley Hackel, Peter's friend and Step-Mom of 20 plus years. Paige was on her way to California along with her best friend Ruth McCourt Cifford and Ruth’s daughter Juliana for a spiritual retreat at the Deepak Chopra Center and for a surprise trip to Disney Land for four-year-old Juliana. On the morning of the 11th, all three left Paige's Newton home for the drive to Logan. Although their destination was the same, the two friends chose to use frequent flyer miles which they had on separate airlines. Therefore, Paige was booked on American fight #11 while the McCourt’s were booked on United flight # 175. Ironically, in New York, Ruth’s brother, Ron Clifford had arrived at the World Trade Center from his home in New Jersey 15 minutes early for a business meeting. As he paced the lobby, he felt the building shake. It was Paige’s plane crashing into the North Tower. Ron was then helping a woman out of the building for medical attention when he saw the plane that (unknown to him) was carrying his sister and niece crash into the South Tower. Since 9/11 PHP has dedicated much of its time
working with worthy causes Paige would have supported if she were still
alive. click here to view "Recent Events" A Brief HistoryIn October of 1999, Pete Hackel along with friend and partner Spencer Liebmann established Encore Entertainment with the goal of building a quality performance venue and eatery to be franchised throughout New England. Peter and Spencer then called upon long time friend and Vermont club owner Rob Washington to oversea the development and launch of what was to become Chancery Lane, in Sanford Maine. While hosting bands at Chancery Lane, Pete reunited with many of his mates from his musical past. This led him, along with blues legend, James Montgomery and long time music partner John Ryder of Face To Face, to co-found the All-Star group “James Montgomery and Friends” (click here to learn more about JM&F). Given the events surrounding September 11th (click here for "The Other Side Of Our Story") and other variables Chancery Lane permanently closed it's doors in December of 2001 . At that juncture, Peter's began dedicating his music productions to help the worthy causes he felt Paige would support. It is from here that PH Productions was born..... Meet The PHP Team |
